Igangan, Town which suffered herdsmen attacks loses Oba

The traditional ruler of Igangan,a farming town in Oyo North, Asigangan of Igangan, Oba Lasisi Olawuyi Adeoye has joined his ancestors.

Iy will be recalled that Igangan was made more popular when residents cried out over invasion of the small town by herdsmen which had reached its peak last year.

It will also be recalled that the detained leader of the Yoruba Nation movement, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly called Sunday Igboho, had stormed Igangan in January this year where he gave a quit notice to some Fulani herders in the community especially the Seriki Fulani, Alhaji Saliu Abdulkadir.

 

 

As a retaliatory move, the palace of the monarch was burnt down in June 21 this year while many people were killed in the community after some gunmen stormed the town in the wee hours of the day.

The attack had drawn widespread anger.

Details of the passing away of the monarch were not available as at the time of filing this report, it was learnt from a source that the news of the passing was broken to the residents Tuesday morning.
