Tension continued in Lagos on Wednesday about 24 hours after a truck crushed some students after closing from the Babs Fafunwa Millennium School, Ojodu, Lagos.

Angry students had set the truck ablaze after it overran some of their colleagues. The driver was said to be evading arrest from the Vehicle Inspection Officers.

Some other vehicles were also caught in the melee and damaged by the protesters.

There was pandemonium in the entire Berger, Omole, Ojodu and Ogba areas as policemen shot sporadically to disperse rioting students.

Hoodlums had also taken advantage of the confusion to loot some shops.

However, there were confrontations when anxious parents besieged the school premises on Wednesday in search of their children.

The parents had resisted attempts by policemen to stop them from entering the school to demand for the whereabouts of their children.

Some of the students, numbering about 200 had also attempted to confront the policemen who were stationed at the entrance of the school.

Some teachers however stopped the students many of who carried placards with various inscriptions.
