At least, nine inmates of the Jos Custodial Centre, have been killed in the attack that took place on Sunday.
It will be recalled that gunmen had stormed the centre located on Gada Biu, the state capital in the evening of Sunday.
Taking stock, it was found that one official of the centre was killed while one of the attackers also lost his life in the process.
As at the time of the attack on Sunday, the centre was said to be populated to the tune of 1,060 inmates comprising 560 pre-trial detainees and 500 convicts.
A statement by National PRO of the centre, OF Enobore said 262 inmates escaped from the facility while a staff of the centre was shot in the hand.
He said the Controller-General of Corrections, Haliru Nababa assured that the death of the victims will not be in vain.
He said all the perpetrators would be hunted and made to face the full wrath of the law.
