The presidential ambition of Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Adoza Bello got a boost on Saturday when a pressure group, “Project One Nigeria in Diaspora” (POND) offers to purchase his All Progressives Congress,APC, presidential nomination form.
The group in a statement on Saturday in Abuja signed by Mr. Olatunji Adebanjo – President and Dr. Abdulrasheed Jajere – Secretary appealed to the ruling party shto throw open the presidential ticket of the party to enable credible people like Gov. Bello to contest for the nation’s plum position.
POND observed that Bello’s performance and efforts at transforming Kogi State in the last 6 years have shown that he has unparalleled skill and knowledge of leading a complex country like Nigeria out of the woods.
The group said that they are not sitting on the fence by only calling Governor Bello to contest for the highest office in the country but have offered to buy his nomination forms to enable him to contest on the ticket of APC.
“We want it to go on record that we are ready to buy All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential nomination forms for His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello to run for the office of the President come 2023.
“He has worked effectively in Kogi State for the past 6 years during which time the state recorded enormous developments. His achievements include and are not limited to ensuring the security of life and properties, infrastructure dev, development, and other social amenities.
Assuring Nigerians that Bello’s excellent credentials would be handy in helping him to navigate the slippery and uncertain path of governance.
“His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello is honest, reliable and willing to work long hours if elected as the next President.
“We believe Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello is the most qualified to be Nigeria’s next President. His wealth of experience in governance will promote an atmosphere of openness in the area of job opportunities.”
The group then appealed to Gov. Mai Mala Buni-led Caretaker Committee to shun the call for zoning of the party’s presidential ticket to a particular zone, rather, POND advised that the party should the ow its ticket open for flag bearer to emerge freely of zoning.
The group also urged Nigerians to the movement that will actualize “a greater future for our children and yet unborn under a presidency of Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello.”
