Amosun’s presidential poster
Ahead of the 2023 general elections, the presidential campaign posters of former Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, on Wednesday, surfaced in Abeokuta, the state capital.
Amosun, who was governor for eight years is presently the Senator representing Ogun Central at the Senate.
He is a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress and behind a faction of the party in the state.
His presidential campaign banner was conspicuously hung on the popular NNPC bridge along presidential boulevard way, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta.
The banner shows three images of Amosun clad in Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa attires.A logo with an inscription of one “Oba Agoro” who appears to be the brain behind the campaign was on the banner.The inscription reads, “Your voice, your choice, SIA (meaning Senator Ibikunle Amosun) for President.”A few vehicles with Amosun’s campaign posters were sighted in the Abeokuta metropolis on Wednesday .
However,one of the aides of Amosun who pleaded anonymity said his boss was not the brain behind the posters.
Said he, “Such poster wouldn’t have come from him. I can’t say exactly where it came from. I don’t think he knows anything about it. You have heard about different politicians’ posters surfacing in Abuja.
“So, I’m not sure he knows anything about it.”
