The scale falling off Umahi’s eyes says, ” I’ll feel bad if South East didn’t get the presidential slot”

Governor of Ebonyi state,David Umahi, has said he will feel bad if the South East geo -political zone is not fielded as Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress,APC during the 2023 elections.
Speaking on Channels interview programme Politics Today though he did not join the party because of presidential ticket, yet he feels the Igbo people deserves to be given an opportunity to rule.
Umahi said he joined the APC from the People’s Democratic Party,PDP in order “to prove that the Ndigbo believe in one Nigeria.”
He said that he left the PDP in order to fight equity ,justice and fair play for all adding ,”I don’t see PDP concede the slot of the Presidency for Ndigbo and I didn’t see the reason why they should not do so considering what the people have done for the party over the years”.
He stated further that though he didn’t quit the PDP because of Igbo Presidency but need to ensure justice,equity and fair play.
Asked what he would do if the Igbo could not get the opportunity to fly the parties flag in 2023, he said he believe in the wisdom of Presidential Buhari to do the needful.
“I believe that President Buhari will impute his wisdom to do the right thing and arrive at the right decision for the country.”
“I believe the hope of the people of the South east is that they should be given a chance to rule Nigeria”
