Indeed the town has never seen such a carnival-like burial and may wait for a long time to witness such again. In fact, it will certainly not be in a hurry to forget the bench mark-like event as it will not only be a talking point for months or years if not decades to come.

That was what happened on that day as the woman who died at the grand old age of 80 years was laid to eternal rest by his son, Austin Eneduwa-George and his other siblings.

The first sign that something unusual was about to happen in the town was the number and kind of cars that streamed into the town conveying men, women and other calibres of political and business personalities.

The town was also flooded with chieftains of All Progressives Congress (APC) and People’s Democratic Party (PDP); such is the kind of network of friends that Austin, one of the sons’ of the deceased, maintains in Delta State and beyond that a times, it is difficult to say, Which party does he belong to, hence he is been nudged to join the Delta State governorship race in 2023. In fact, APC’s delegation to the burial was led by its senatorial chairman in the district.

Actors, actresses from the Nollywood community were not left out too.

The burial programme started with a service of songs at her residence, George. N. Eneduwa Street, Umuokwe Qrts, Ogwashi-Uku. From there and in a colourful motorcade, the ceremony shifted to St. Patrick Catholic Church Umuokwe, Ogwashi Uku, for the funeral service before returning to her residence at #1 George.N. Eneduwa for the final interment. It was an eye popping event as the the pale bearers did a spectacular display with the remains of the deceased contained in an immaculate white casket, to the delight of the guests and onlookers.

If the guest thought they had seen it all at the funeral service and interment, a big ‘shock’ await them at the reception held at Event Centre, Aniocha South Local Government Area, GRA Ogwashi Uku. There, wealth and splendour were on display as guests were entertained with the best edible money can prepare both local an continental. Austin, her son was all over the place making sure that guests were comfortable.

Austin, a big name in the tourism, hospitalism industry and former APC House of Assembly flag bearer  for Delta State, made sure all who attended went home with tales to tell
