Leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu’s trial has been adjourned to October 21, 2021.
Kanu’s case was brought before Justice Binta Nyako on Monday amidst tight security just as some members of the IPOB were arrested near the court.
Justice Nyako ordered that Kanu must be brought to the court physically while he must be granted access to his lawyer.
The lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor said Kanu has been subjected to severe torture and other violations of his rights.
Justice Nyako also said she needed a fiat from the Chief Justice of the Federation to proceed with the trial.
On the arrest of some of the members of IPOB the lawyer to said it is the right of members of the group to witness the trial of Kanu.
