Heavy downpours have rendered many parts of Lagos State flooded as commuters were today stranded in many parts of the metropolis.

The Victoria Island area is the worst hit on Friday as it rained endlessly just as many were stuck in flooded areas.
Areas such as Broad Street, Marina, Awolowo Road, Gerald in Ikoyi, Obalende, Dolphin Estate, Adeniran Ogunsanya, Moroco Road in Bariga and other areas were flooded.
The Lagos State Government had earlier warned residents against blocking drainages to avert flooding.
At Marina, hundreds of cars parked at parking lots were taken over by water as the lots became water-lodged.
Most car owners were surprised to find their cars submerged in the parking lots with many unable to start the cars.
As at the time of filing this report, the flood had created traffic logjams with many stranded on the roads.
