Abiodun speaks on Ijoko Road

Going by the response of the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, to the pathetic state of the road that runs through Ijoko, Matogbun, Lambe and Akute as posted in the Facebook Timeline of Mr. Festus Akanbiast  on Friday, it is not likely that  the state government will do anything on the road anytime soon.

The Ijoko Road

While reacting to the post and the pictures of the state of the road as posted by the time tested  journalist with THISDAY Newspapers, the governor who is currently in Anambra supervising the All Progressives Party’s primary to choose who leads the party into the governorship election said, “Thank you dear Festus but the truth is how many roads can I intervene in witting two years with the paucity of funds !!??!!’

It is true that he may not have all the money in the world to embark on the reconstruction of all bad roads in the state, it is also not fair for him to make such a statement.

This is a governor who while he was campaigning for vote, promised the people that he will complete all the abandoned road projects by his predecessor(s).

The question now is, when he was making that promise, did he paused to ask himself where he will get the money to complete all the projects?

Why opening up new road project he cannot complete before end of his tenor. The Ijoko-Ogbaayo and Alagbole road is begging for completion and while he is complaining of paucity of funds by Ogun state govt., he is promising starting another road that connects Papa Lanto to Shagamu. Who does not understand his motives. Anyway, I know when 2023 election draws nearer he would start going around to make another fake promises. But we are waiting.

We live on our own. We purchased our transformers, did the networks and donated to electricity board. We make our roads and provides all we need without the government help.
They behaves as if they are doing us favour when they carry out any project with public funds. They are coming again to beg for our votes come 2023.
    Nigerians needs to wakeup.
Amusu spent 8 yeare, destroyed Ijoko-Akute road to the detriment of all peoples living in those axis.
    God will not forgive them.
The will pay for these crimes.
Their children will surely share from it.
The poor are crying and they deafen their ears. All these evils of theirs will outlive them.
They teach at Sha-sha that ‘self help is best help’ To which extent wi{{ self help take us amid numerous needs?
We have no government but selfish exploiters.
