…Says future of Nigeria lies in there
Former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Vice Chairman, South West, Chief Olabode George, has join the call for the 2014 National Conference report to be revisited.
George who is also the Atona O’odua, made this call in his Ikoyi residence during the inauguration of the party’s Leaders’ Advisory Council for Lagos State held last Tuesday.
According to him the future of this country lies in that report just as he also advocated for devolution of power from the federal to state to end the monthly voyage by governors to Abuja for allocation.
He called on the National Assembly to, as a matter of urgency, approve the electronic voting system and pass it on to the president for ascent so as to minimise the incidence of fraud in voting/election.
George foresee a resounding electoral victory for PDP, in 2023, however, he charged party members not to relax on their oars but instead work harder and remain disciple as any organisation without discipline is doomed.
On the forthcoming local government election in Lagos State, he predicated victory for the PDP in some areas,but feared that the result from the polling booth might be changed at the coalition centre, to favour All Progressives Congress (APC), and called on PDP members to be watchful.
Also earlier in his speech, he had openly apologised to all those who felt that he has directly or indirectly offended them and also accepted the apology of all those that might have offended in him.
