Barely 24 hours after the death of Lt General Attahiru,erstwhile chief of Army staff, in a plane crash Friday in Kaduna,President Muhammad Buhari,has appointed the General Officer Commanding the 1st Division of the Nigerian Army, Kaduna Major General Danjuma Ali-Keffi as the new Chief of Army Staff.
New COAS
The new COAS wa made the Ag. 37th GOC of 1 Div Kaduna on the 11th of March 2018
General Ali-Keffi born January 29, 1966 is also from Borno like retired Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen Brutai.
The new COAS is from Maiduguri local Government and was a member Regular Combatant Course 38 of the NDA.
He was promoted Major General on September 21, 2018 when he became the General Officer Commanding, 1 Division, Kaduna.
He belongs to the Infantry Corps of the Nigerian Army.
His predecessor Lt. Gen Attahiru died within his territory in a plane crash on Friday at 6pm and was buried Saturday afternoon in Abuja along with eleven officers who died in the crash.
