Samuel Nnoshiri put aside his recent transfer saga to make an instant impact for new club, Katsina United, contributing to the goals in a 5-1 routing of Wikki Tourists on MatchDay of the Nigeria Professional Football League (,NPFL).
Making his debut file out, Nnoshiri who terminated his contract for Owerri-based Heartland citing five months salary arrears, failed to score from the penalty spot 15 minutes into the game. Though his team mate Joseph Atule pounced on the rebound, Nnoshiri would make up with his own goal to give Katsina a three goals lead in the first half.
Katsina United dominated play in the first stanza and deservedly took a 3-0 lead to define their intention on the evening.
It was Atule Joseph who scored one goal and assisted thrice to mastermind the 5-1 bashing of Wikki Tourists in the match played at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium.

New boy, Nnoshiri was fouled by Mustapha Abudullahi inside the box after 15 minutes and he stepped up for the spot kick which was saved by goalkeeper Ibrahim Pius only for Atule to blast home the rebound for the day’s opening goal.

Rasheed Ahmed would double the lead with a close range finish after a good delivery from Atule in the 35th minute.

Four minutes later Nnoshiri made it 3-0 off another assist from Atule.

Second Half
The visitors returned from the break more determined and were rewarded with a consolation goal just after three minutes. It came off a long pass from Joel Djondang that was smartly converted by Stephen Gopey.

Katsina United were not dampened but pressured their guests, creating several other chances to keep goalkeeper Ibrahim Pius busy most for most of the half.

Samuel Kalu registered his name on the score sheet with a well taking shot to beat un-rushing Ibrahim. It was yet another assist from Atule.

Rasheed Ahmed completed his brace, heading in the 5th goal from Samuel Kalu’s corner to put icing on the cake with 16 minutes left to play.

Nazifi Yahaya of Wikki Tourists was sent off in the 83rd minute for verbally assaulting the Referee.

Katsina United are now 16th on the league table with 21 points from 20 rounds of matches, while Wikki Tourists have scooped 24 points and positioned 14th having played twenty games.

Wikki Tourists will next host Nasarawa United and Katsina United travels to Heartland for MatchDay 21.
