Kabiru Dogo was left dejected at the Okigwe Township Stadium where Abia Warriors turned his Wikki side to real Tourists on the pitch

The Matchday 10 fixture of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) had Abia Warriors written all over it, as they delivered a command performance that condemned Wikki Tourist to 3-0 annihilation in a very entertaining game.
Dogo did not hide his disappointment with the overall performance of his wards and chided them for not being clinical despite creating opportunities.
“This is not a good game for us because we prepared for this game, at worst we would have picked a draw not a loss”, Dogo lamented and threw in the blame.
“My players simply could not raise their game today, missing begging chances and they were just not clinical in front of goal even after creating the chances” he said.

Hero of the match and Abia Warriors two goals scorer, Valentine Odoh had words of appreciation for the coach, backroom staff and his teammates.

He thanked them for the confidence reposed on him to deliver and recalled how he was sidelined for over three months due to injuries.

Though the visitors started with some sparks it turned out to be a day for Odoh who took the game to the away team after the kick off and got a brace to crown his efforts.

The story started for Abia Warriors when in the 37th minute Odoh had the simplest job to do by tapping in a beautiful pull out from Udochukwu Anumudu.
Not slowing down Odoh doubled the lead for the hosts in the 65th minute from a close range while another tormentor, Godwin Obaje put the game beyond the reach of the away team by heading into an empty net after another beautiful display of skill from Nwake Kalu inside Wikkis 18yard box in the 73rd  minute. It was a goal that sent the home supporters into a frenzy.

Galadima Mohammed turned out to be the saviour of sorts for Wikki Tourist as he stood between Abia Warriors and more goals with a gallant performance.

With the win Abia Warriors came back to winning ways after three successive defeats this season,

Despite securing the services of Nwachukwu Chidi, Uzochukwu Chigozie, Atobasi Imeh, Anumudu Udochukwu at the start of the season, Abia Warriors have struggled before this fixture, managing just 9 points after 9 games with two wins, two draws and placed 14th on the league table.

With the win, they now have 12 points after 10 games and will square up against another tough side and last season AIETO Cup finalist, Nasarrawa United on MatchDay 11 in another home game.
