Political activist ,Senator Shehu Sani ,have said that there is no need for herdsmen clash with Yoruba region if the vast land in the North is cultivated for cattle grazing.
He said this is the only lasting solution to frequent clashes with Yoruba farmers and youths who recently issued a quit notice to cattle rearers.
Said he he,”we have more than enough land to accommodate Herdsmen and their cattle in the North.”
Senator Sani advised northerners to utilize and make use of the abundant grassland they have in the north to enlarge cattle business adding that when the business is modernize, it can create losts of employment and generate huge income not only to indiviuals but also to the Government.
According to him, “the northern part of Nigeria occupies almost seventy percent of the land mass of this country. And it is purely arable grass land, utilizing it will help stop the problem Herdsmen are facing either in the north or south because of grazing land.”
The Activist added that, the only way to solve the problem fulani Herdsmen are facing in Nigeria, is by utilizing the lands we have in the north. The lands we have are more than enough for the Fulani Herdsmen to wander about without the fear of been harassed by anybody.
