This week’s edition of Glo-sponsored television magazine, CNN African Voices Changemakers, will be beaming its spotlight on Nigerian-born media personality, Mo Abudu.

After working as Human Resources consultant in London and later Nigeria, 56-year-old Mosunmola Abudu, popularly called Mo Abudu,  hit the limelight with her talk show, Moments with Mo on which she brought many issues to lime light through interviews with top personalities, the needy and citizens with  disabilities.

In 2006 she started her own TV channel,  EbonyLife Television, which  is received by viewers  in over 49 countries across Africa, UK and the Caribbean.

She went on to produce several popular television drama series which were aired on EbonyLife Television channel including Sons Of The Caliphate,  Castle & Castle, Desperate Housewives Africa in partnership with Disney, and The Governor.

By 2014, EbonyLife Films was incorporated and, with Abudu as Executive producer, block –buster films which dominated the nation’s movie industry like Chief Daddy , The Wedding PartyThe Wedding Party 2, The Royal Hibiscus Hotel,  Your Excellency  and Òlòtūré were produced.

Few years later she started getting rewards for her contributions to the Nigerian and African film industry. Forbes in 2013 recognized her as the first African woman to own a Pan-Africa TV channel. In the same year she was listed as one of the 25 Most Powerful Women in Global TV by The Hollywood Reporter. This was followed by  Entrepreneur of the Year award by Women Work in New York in 2014.

Mo Abudu will share her success story with viewers on CNN by 9.30 a.m. on Saturday and on Sunday at 4.30 a.m., 7.30 a.m., 12.30 p.m. and  7.30 p.m. It will also be aired on Monday at  12.30 a.m. and  5.30 a.m.
