Music superstar David Adeleke otherwise known as Davido has bewailed how undue pressure from outsiders has introduced storms into his relationship with heartthrob Chioma and abated what was hitherto an easy-going relationship between them.
He said the undue exposition of the affair, which was totally private, until he went public with the Assurance video, to mark it, put a wedge on the relationship as some people wanted many thing to happen.
Though the Omo Baba Olowo (OBO), gave assurance that the relationship would definitely lead to marriage, but he insists that it would not be anytime soon, so that they would have time to put the foundation in place, adding that presently, the celebrity chef was busy making money.
Admitting feeling pressured to marry her after she got pregnant, Davido, who is scheduled to drop his ‘A Better Time’ album in November, in an interview with Ndani TV, the relationship would not ride on the wave of what people felt.
The artiste, who recently unveiled the album art for his upcoming album which features Ifeanyi, the baby who came out of his relationship with Chioma, said he was once stopped by a woman somewhere in Barcelona who warned him to make sure he marries Chioma.
Hear him: “We would get married but not now. We are trying to make the foundation solid and I’m so happy now that Chioma is focused on making money. We are not riding on the wave that people want this for us.”
Revealing how some people actually put some strains into the relationship, he added: “After the Assurance video, Chioma received hate messages from people. Her parents even got hateful messages. It affected our relationship too. Chioma went from being a private person. It affected our relationship a lot then I realised people don’t like something good.
“We started having issues at some point and we decided not to tell anyone anything about us, that was when I decided to go offline for a while. Before Assurance video, our relationship was so good. The dynamics between us changed after our relationship became Public. It was like everybody’s relationship and business.
“I felt pressured at some point to officially do the wedding but now I don’t. At the end of the day, it’s between both of us and our families.
