Omotola Oyediran dies at 80

Reverend Mrs.  Omotola Oyediran, the eldest surviving child and daughter of the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, passed on today.
She would have been 80 this December.

Revd Mrs Omotola Oyediran, according to a reliable source, died after a very brief illness.
She is survived by her husband and one-time vice chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Professor Kayode Oyediran of Offa in Kwara State, children, grandchildren as well as her only sister, Ambassador Tokunbo Awolowo-Dosunmu.

Mrs Oyediran was until her death the chairman of African Newspapers of Nigeria plc, publishers of the Nigerian Tribune and its stable mate, Sunday Tribune.
