Elegushi to Muslims: Continue to uphold lessons of Ramadan

As Muslims in Nigeria joins the rest of the world to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitri, marking the end of the Ramadan fast, prominent Lagos monarch, the Elegushi of Ikate Kingdom, Oba Saheed Elegushi has urged the Islamic faithfuls not to abandon the lessons of the Holy Month of Ramadan, even as the 30days fasting comes to an end.

In his Sallah message signed by his media aide, Temtope Oyefeso, the monarch said the lessons of tolerance, forgiveness and charity, as exemplified in the holy month of Ramadan must continue, even after and should always be the guiding principles of all Muslims and Nigerians in gemeral.

He admonished all well-meaning individuals to continue to support the less privileged, particular at this unusual times that the world is battling the covid-19 pandemic, which has affected the economy of almost every country of the world and the standard of living of the people.

“I urge my Muslim brothers and sisters to continue to show love, even as we end the month long fasting. We must give helping hands to those in need, especially as we try to get back to normalcy from the pandemic. It is now more than before, that we must be our brother’s keeper”, the monarch added.

He equally advised those celebrating to be modest in their celebration and continue to obey all the safety measures in place to reduce the community transmission of the deadly coronavirus.
