…Says test centres on the way for citizens
The Ekiti state government has disclosed that the state has seven index cases been treated at its isolation centres just as it reveals it’s working with relevant stakeholders and some philanthropists in the state to establish a befitting Covid 19 Test Centre in the state in no distant time .
The commissioner for Health and Human Services Dr. Mojisola Yaya-Kolade made the disclosure at the Press briefing to update Ekiti residents by members of the Covid 19 Task Force held at conference Hall Governor’s office ,Ado Ekiti.
Dr. Yaya-Kolade said that Ekiti state has seven index cases noting that some have them have tested negative while others still remained positive.
“All the seven active cases we currently have in Ekiti state are stable. Some have tested negative waiting for second test while some still remain positive.”she noted.
Biodun Olofe,health ministry information officer also quoted the Chairman of the Task Force and Director General Office of Transformation and Strategy Professor Mobolaji Aluko as saying that there had been improved vigilance by citizens at the border towns saying that violators are brought before the magistrate for adequate prosecution.
” if you’re coming to the state during this period you would be turned back or be taking to quarantine centre for test and stay there for 14 days and whoever flout this order would be prosecuted accordingly”. The Chairman noted.
Prof. Aluko appealed to charity organizations and individuals that are complimenting the efforts of the state government in giving food items and palliatives to residents to do it in accordance with quarantine laws observing social distancing and compulsory use of face masks .
While contributing, the commissioner for Environment Hon. Gbenga Agbebi commended Ekiti residents for their high level of compliance with rules and regulations under Covid 19 .
Hon. Agbebi hinted that the ministry of Environment has approached the Ekiti state House of Assembly to empower the environmental Task Force to arrest any individual or organizations found committing Noise pollution in the state.
