COVID-19: Ayade wants LGs to contribute N900m

The Governor of Cross river state, Governor Ben Ayade,has asked the Speaker of the state house of assembly to pass a resolution mandating each of the local government councils in the state to contribute N50million each towards the fight again at corona virus in the state.
In a letter to the speaker dated April 8th and signed by the secretary to the state government, Barrister Tina Banku Agbor,the government said this directive was sequel to the approval of the state executive council during its emergency meeting of April 1st 2020 which approved that each of the 18 local governments in the state should contribute N50million to enable the state government fight the scourge.
As a result,the SSG said the state governor is requesting the Honourable Speaker and members to consider and pass a resolution granting approval for the 18 local governments to key into the states fight against Coronavirus pandemic.
