… Felix Duke, Pretty Okafor wash their dirty linen in the public
The saying that it is not over until it is over, is the best way to describe the crisis rocking Performing Musicians Employers’ Association of Nigeria (PMAN), to its once solid foundation as Mr. Pretty Okafor, in reaction to Newdawn’s story that some musicians, notably Mr. Felex Duke and co., are questioning his claim to the presidency of the association, has flooded our office with documents, mostly court papers, showing that he is the legit president.

In his reaction, Okafor said that he has all documents to show that he is the authentic president of the musicians’ association.
Hear him: “There is no way that Felix can claim he registered the Creative Industry Group (CIG) in 2018 because it was in same year, October, that we gave him power of admin to manage the online group and he tried to use it to run campaign for PDP, which Sunny Neji, stopped him and told him that the group is suppose to be non-partisan..”
He did not stop at that and instead, challenged Duke by saying “So let him bring all his facts …
“I have told you all the people that were around in the process of things, let him bring his own witness that will stand in the court and claim they knew about the formation of the group.
“We designed the logo.
“We did the Constitution
“So how come this Felix Duke wants to claim what he is not even aware how we came about it ..
“Another shocker.
Call Emeka Ike, the AGN president, let him tell you the stories of the CIG and who owns it.
“For this your new story, kindly call Sunny Neji, Zaaki Azaay , Ruggedman and Asha Gangali or even Assistant General Secretary of PMAN. Mr Tunde Omitogun to get the real story of the creative Industry Group.
“Felix Duke is a …,we gave him the group to manage as an admin.
“So he started hub hub-nobing with Orits Willik and Tee Mac with the belief that since PMAN still has crisis, that he can claim it as his own.

Above is all Okafor’s documentary evidences to show that he is the bonafide president of PMAN .
However, Duke who drew the fist blood in that our story still insisted that Okafor is a huge joke. That he lacks the mandate of Nigerian musicians to preside over them saying, “Pretty is a …, he is a … and he must go to jail for contempt. Forms 48 and 49 have been issued by a court in Lagos. He has not quashed that he ran to Ibadan to obtain fake court judgement. He is worse than Oluwole.
“I trademark CIG. You are a journalist. Go and check. I did it. Pretty’s name is not anywhere there and because he knew I trademarked it, he is now saying they agreed to keep it under wraps. I am ready for him. You know I was his leg in the media. I know him well. I will expose him. We have been using my money to run CIG. We do not collect money from people for all the empowerment and now he wants to do this to us. I will expose him for who he is.
“For the training, is me and my excos that put money together to do them..we never collected any money from any trainee..thank God they will all see all this press releases
“Forms 48 and 49 were issued against him by Industrial Court for Pretty to stop parading himself as PMAN president.
He disobeyed the order of the court, ran to Ibadan to bring this kangaroo judgment….29th of next month is the next court adjournment let Pretty come and answer to form 49.. He should come and tell the the court why he shouldn’t go to prison…pretty has no locus standi to say any thing about PMAN …now he is claiming he trade mark PMAN logo… Logo you didn’t know how it came about? You were still wearing pant in Ajegunle when PMAN was formed and the logo …you come and tell the union not to use their logo hmmmm …you see Pretty is a big criminal.”
Duke ended by urging musicians and Nigerians who are interested in the day and year he registered CIG and trademark it, to go to the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment’s Commercial Law Department to find out.
While Duke showed us CIG trade mark for sighting only but refused to allow us to make a copy, among the documents Okafor left with us were court documents, including PMAN trade mark showing that he is the president of the association.
However, the question now is, who owns the trade mark of the group; Duke who is the president of CIG and who holds the trade mark certificate or Okafor, who is the president of PMAN some of its members he said initiated the idea of CIG?
