He said that signs that the fictionalised trade union was going to continue with it’s reign of terror was first noticed on the day of the inauguration of the governor Seyi Makinde when the factions of the union engaged in a violent clash at the venue of the inauguration.
He said that as a result, Governor Makinde told the people of the state that the union has to be banned to stop the violence which has characterized the union in the state.
Adisa said the appointment of park managers by the state government is meant to ensure that the unique policy brings in revenue due to the state and local government and stop been cornered by wrong people who not only feed fat on the revenue collected but threw the state into orgy of violence because of the factionalisation adding, “we can not allow such a trend to continue and since the ban it has brought a lot of peace in to the state.
” We have to stop the threat the crisis within the leadership has brought into the state and secure the people of the state from the violent activities of the NURTW.How else do we secure our people beside banning.
He revealed that contrary to reports, there is no sharing formula by the government and with the union adding that,”the leadership of the union should sort itself out”
He said that the government for now did not know where the money realised from motor parks in the state is going to adding that the parks under the new system will be arranged in such a way that there are provision of conveniences like toilet and other facilities in place to serve the people.
In his answer to the panel of interviewers, the state chairman of NURTW Kayode Agbeyangi, said apart from sealing its offices the state has refused to apprehend the trouble shooter one,Mukaila Lamidi who he accused of tormenting trouble with his faction.
He disclosed that the various factions have been meeting to reconcile its differences and called on the state government to open its closed offices statewide.
In the same vein, another representative of the state NURTW Suleiman Musa said the chapter has brought together all the state six factions where the state police commissioner, the state director of the state security services(SSS) and the state commissioner for works and transport were present adding that the union has not stop the state government from collecting its revenue.
But Adisa countered that as at the time of banning the union,”nobody knew where the money been collected is going to.The state and local government has not been getting its own dues from the parks adding, “let us organise the motor parks in such a way that there would be conveniences there to serve the purpose for which they were created.”
