Larewaju for burial on Xmas Eve

The former news editor of Vanguard newspaper, Kolade Larewaju who died of cardiac arrest on Wednesday is to be buried on Christmas eve in Abeokuta after a funeral service at the First Baptist Church, Ibara Abeokuta the Ogun State capital.

His widow, Mrs. Denyo Kolade confirmed this in an interview on Saturday night after a crucial meeting between the Church officials and Kolade’s family that traveled down from Ibadan.

The meeting agreed that a wake keep would hold at his residence at Olokuta area of Idiaba in Abeokuta on Monday 23rd December evening.

The Chief Executive Officer of the online media, NewdawnNgr Media company late Mr. Kolade worked with until his death, Mr. Tunde Abatan said they were only waiting for the family and his Church to agree on the date of burial. Kolade was his assistant in the media outfit.

Mr. Kolade Lanrewaju,former special assistant on media to a former deputy governor of Ogun state,Segun Adesegun, died Wednesday morning after dropping his children in school, rested his head on the steering after suffering a suspected cardiac arrest by the road side. He just survived a stroke attack.

Reports said when people noted no movement from his car after 15 minutes and saw his head on the steering, they reported to Adigbe Police Station where his family was contacted.

His wife confirmed to me that the police has released the car to them.

His colleagues and associates had expressed shock at his sudden death. He was a keen football lover following the European League where he and his friends are well known on Facebook to throw tantrums at each other.

Investigations also shows that Mr. Kolade had gone round his friends about a week to his death accusing them of not asking about him up to his residential abode.

His Christian friends will miss the regular posting of Hymns every Sunday morning on Facebook.
