…Stakeholders accused Abiodun of crowding the list with Yayis men
…..Former gov Osoba threatening to withdraw support…..Daniel,others too
Except urgent measures are taken by leaders of the All Progressive Congress (APC) the Ogun State chapter of the party may head for a serious crisis over the commissioners’ list sent to the state house of assembly by Governor Dapo Abiodun.
The grouse of the leading stakeholders led by former Governor Segun Osoba is that twelve out of the eighteen nominees are Senator Olamilekan Adeolas aka Yayi’s men. He is the Senator representing Lagos West Senatorial District.
Indeed, Newdawn gathered that a leading member of the Osoba group , Chief Adeyemi was to address a press conference yesterday in Abeokuta announcing their withdrawal of support but was prevailed upon to suspend the move.
It was learnt that on his part, Governor Abiodun is contemplating sending names of three additional nominees to the state assembly for approval.
Also threatening to withdraw support were former Governor Gbenga Daniel with whom he signed an agreement to allocate two slots but got none and Senators Tolu Odebiyi, Lanre Tejuoso and governorship candidate of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Gboyega Isiaka.
As a result, the aggrieved party stakeholders, it was learnt have resolved to table the matter before national leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu for his intervention before matters get out of hand.
Our sources revealed that the party stakeholders were also angry because most of the consultants appointed by the governor working for him in the past seven months since assumption of office are Senator Olamilekan’s men.
It will be recalled that Governor Abiodun has been working without commissioners since assuming office seven moths ago and only sent a list of nominees to the state house of assembly last Tuesday.
