A cat,which delivered a set of kittens and eaten up cables in a transformer has allegedly caused a blackout in Surulere area of Lagos .
The residents of Akewusola and Ile Calvary, Ogba, which were affected by the black out noticed the incident on Sunday 15 September but were initially unable to figure out what went wrong.

According to an eye witness, the cat delivered the kitten where the transformer is situated and ate some cables when it became hungry after delivery.
The Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) officials came to the aid of the residents on Tuesday but were unable to fix the problem due to the heavy rainfall, which disrupted the restoration of electricity to the area.
However, on Wednesday, information came in from PHCN to residents to pay an unspecified amount of money for the destroyed cable to be fixed.
As at the time of filling this report electricity is yet to be restored in the two communities.
