Array of tricycles to be won
Digital transformation leader and the grandmaster of data, Globacom, has rolled out an elaborate plan to excite the people of Ijebu Ode at this year’s edition of the annual Ojude Oba Festival.
This was announced recently at a press conference to unveil the details of this year’s Ojude Oba festival being sponsored by Globacom.
Globacom’s representative at the press conference, Mr. Olufolahan Faseyitan, who is the Regional Manager Activation ( Lagos and Ogun), said this year’s edition will be much more fun than last year’s edition.
To begin with, 10 tricycles are up for wining by lucky residents of Ijebu Ode and its environs, according to Mr Faseyitan. Last year, only one person won the star prize of a brand new car.
Speaking on the modalities for winning the prize, he said anybody who purchases items in any Gloworld shop in Ijebu Ode or Ago Iwoye from now till the festival commences would be given a raffle ticket which qualifies him or her to win the star prize or any of the ten LED television sets also available for customers. The draw for the winners will be made during the event in August.
The tricycles are already on display at the entrance of the Awujale Palace for people to behold to reinforce their hope of going home with one during the festival.
The detail of the plan unveiled by Globacom include Fuji crooner Abass Obesere, Pop sensation Lil Kesh and ace comedian MC Bash who will perform at the Ileya all-night show where a 2019 Miss Ojude Oba will be picked.
Also speaking at the event, the Chairman of the 2019 Ojude Oba Festival Committee, Chief Wahab Osinusi, announced that business mogul, Chief Kessington Adebutu is expected to be the Special Guest while the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun will be the Guest of Honour. The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi is expected as the Royal Father of the day.
Chief Osinusi commended Globacom for its strong and unbroken support over the years for the Ojude Oba Festival which had been celebrated for over two centuries now. According to him, this year’s theme, “Ojude Oba: The Uniqueness of the Ijebu Nation”, speaks to the objective of taking stock and boosting trade and commerce.
Answering questions from journalists later, the Coordinator, 2019 Ojude Oba Festival Committee, Chief Fassy Yusuf, showered encomiums on Globacom for its resolve in empowering Nigerians in diverse ways, which he said was a veritable means of wealth redistribution and social enterprise.
