The Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has ever since kept mute over the Tai Solarin College of Education (TASCE) Staff and the College Provost unrest as the newly appointed Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Bashiru Makama wades into situation.
The Chairman Coalition of TASCE Staff (COTAS), Comrade Daniel Aborisade gave this hint during the Congress of the coalition at one of the college lecture hall in Omu Ijebu- Ode.
He said given the background information of the situation to the police Commissioner, he instructed both parties to meet at the Area Command in Ijebu Ode for further reconciliation after due consideration to the Congressional decision of the coalition, adding, the area command never waited for the congress decision before forcing the provost Dr. Adeola Kiadese into gaining entrance to the college at exactly 2pm on the 11th of April, 2019, as against the police commissioner advised.
Aborisade said part of the congressional decision was that all demand must be met by the state government, that the provost must go, that the Area commander, Ijebu Ode police station should hands off the case,that the Commissioner of police be written a commendation letters for the role he played and suspension of meeting with Omu Ajose Communities Peace and Reconciliation Committee as they are one sided in their judgement.
Speaking with one of the staff who claim anonymity, he said the Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun was at the center of the situation, adding that ever since the situation has gotten out of hand, the Governor has kept mute, saying that he was very sure that daily situation security report would have been on the table of the Governor.
He accused Amosun of total neglect of the college and refusal to pay 30 months subvention, over 40 months salary arrears, cooperative deduction, pension deduction among others, adding that of recent the provost signed out the sum of 2million naira.
Speaking with Dr. Adeola Kiadese, the provost of the college on phone he said he has been given express permission by the Commissioner of Police to resume back to the college and carry out his official duty with the knowledge of the Area Commander, Ijebu Ode police station, the Secretary to the state government, Barr. Taiwo Adeoluwa, and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education Science and Technology Alhaji Sefiu Rasheed.
He said when he was been threatening by members of the coalition along side the Deputy provost, he personally asked the deputy provost to stay off the college premises until the matters be resolved, adding that the claim by some staff of the college that he recently signed out the sum of 2 million naira was just a ploy to maligned his character.
Kiadese said as the provost of the college his approval limit was 1 million naira with a follow up approval from the state government,saying that he has resumed back to his office on the 11th of April, 2019 as he claimed that except the Audit of the college was carried out he can not ascertained how many months salary was being hold, the arrears along side the other deductions.
