The Independent National Electoral Communication (INEC) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Friday received necessary materials few hours to the general elections.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the materials arrived at the INEC office at 10 p.m. on Friday.

Mr Yahaya Bello, Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), FCT said that everything was set for the conduct of the election in the FCT.

Bello said that the materials arrived late because of break down in communication.

“Due to that factor, we went to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) very late at about 4.p.m. because of break down in communication.

“The materials take time to load, so we have sorted them, they are all customised according to the six Area Councils.

“So there is no problem; we have the trucks lined up already to convey the ballot papers and results.

“By God’s grace we are ready to go, our centres are ready and fortified. ”

Bello said that there were more than 300 police personnel in the office, adding that they would escort the materials to the various destination.

Some of the political parties that witnessed the distribution, said they were satisfied with the process (NAN)
