Senate on Tuesday was in rowdy session over alleged lopesidedness in the appointment to the board of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC).

The trouble started when the Chairman, Senate Committee on Anti-Corruption and Financial Crimes, Senator Chukwuka Utazi, presented the report of the board members for confirmation before the Senate.

But Senator Victor Umeh, Kicked against the constitution of the board saying that the appointment is in favour of Southwest and North East while other regions were not represented on the board.
It could be recalled that the Senate had earlier last week confirmed the appointment of Olanipekun Olukoyede as the Secretary of the Commission.

However, in the board member another one Adeleke Rafiu was appointed into the board from South West.

Senators from South East and South -South kicked against the confirmation of the nominees unless the issue of lopsided constitution of the board is addressed.
