A former Secretary of Transparency International,Major Geberal Isola Williams, has asked former vice president Atiku Abubakar to quit the race for the country’s presidency next year.

In the same vein,he has also asked former Attorney General,Abubakar Malami to withdraw from contesting the Governorship election in Kebbi state.

Both former leaders were indicted by the International Chamber of Commerce Court for receiving bribes in the Mambilla power project which was conceived during the regime of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
According to Williams who once headed the Directorate of Doctrine of Nigerian Army, the two former office holders are not fit for public office in the new dispensation.
Said he in an interview with Newdawnngr.com,”Atiku must quit the Presidential contest. We cannot continue to have crooked characters and politicians as elected officials.
As for him,Malami too must quit the Governorship race in Kebbi state for his indictment by the ICC in its ruling delivered during the week in the Mambilla power scandal.
Malami was accused of failing to give evidence before the court and shielding one of the promoters of Sunrise,Leno Adesanya by striking corrupt deals with him to abort justice.
As at the time of writing this story, near Atiku nor Malami are yet to respond to the ruling of the court which the federal government has described as removing impediments on the way of executing the Mambilla power project.
It will be recalled that both former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Muhammadu Buhari has appeared before the court with respect to the trial.
