Oyeyemi, a known associate of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and a member of the Accord Party, was allegedly shot during an incident linked to a dispute over control of the motor park garage.
Comrade Olalekan Oyeyemi, popularly known as Emir Ajagungbade, has reportedly been shot dead at Mayfair Garage in Ile-Ife, Osun State.
Oyeyemi, a known associate of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and a member of the Accord Party, was allegedly shot during an incident linked to a dispute over control of the motor park garage.
According to reports, the incident involved Comrade Nurudeen Alowonle and the chairman of Ife Mini-Bus, popularly known as Sibi.
Alowonle and Sibi are also members of the Accord Party in Osun State.

Details surrounding the shooting remained unclear at the time of filing, including the circumstances that led to the reported confrontation and the identity of the person or persons who allegedly shot Oyeyemi.
Oyeyemi, who was also known as Emir Ajagungbade, had been involved in the state’s transport and park management system.
He was reportedly a member of the transition committee constituted ahead of Adeleke’s inauguration as governor and had been described in previous reports as a political associate of the governor.
He was also linked to former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola.
Oyeyemi had previously faced serious allegations and legal controversies.
The Osun State Police Command reportedly declared him wanted on July 2, 2022, over allegations including murder, cultism and armed robbery.
He was subsequently arrested by the police anti-kidnapping unit and arraigned in 2024 at the Federal High Court in Osogbo on multiple charges, including terrorism, conspiracy and unlawful killing.
He was granted bail by the court in April 2024.
Despite the legal cases, Oyeyemi remained active around political and transport-related activities in the state.
His reported killing comes amid longstanding tensions and disputes surrounding control of motor parks and transport unions in parts of Osun State.
