It will be recalled that a group of Osun APC stakeholders had written to President Bola Tinubu, informing him of how Oyetola cost the party the election.

The stakeholders accused Oyetola of being responsible for the election defeat to the incumbent governor and Accord Party’s candidate, Ademola Adeleke.

As contained in a letter dated 18th of August 2026, the stakeholders recounted how the former Osun governor cost the APC the election with his alleged appointment of his cronies, allies, and kinsmen, to federal political positions, creating division within the party in the state.

Oyetola was also accused of single-handedly selecting all candidates for elective offices in Osun as against the advice of the party elders.Government

Reacting in a statement issued on Friday the Osun APC Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, faulted the stakeholders.

Olabisi slammed the stakeholders over what he described as orchestrated badmouthing of some of the leaders of the party over its loss at the poll.

‘It has been observed that sponsored newspaper articles by some emergency faceless organisations and recorded video messages have flooded both the social and traditional media, accusing some of the leaders of our party as being responsible for the current unenviable plight of our party with reference to the outcome of the last governorship election in the state.Politics

‘At this stage in the political life of our party, such blame game of any of our leaders or members either directly or by proxy is not what is needed to put the party back on the right track to enable it to collectively confront frontally the forthcoming presidential election in the state.’ The statement partly read.

While acknowledging the complaint of some dedicated members and supporters of the party, the APC spokesperson alleged that the blame games against Oyetola and other leaders were orchestrated by those who worked against the party in favour of Adeleke.Geographic Reference

‘We understand the genuine complaint of some of our dedicated members and supporters who worked assiduously for our party during the governorship election but felt disappointed by the declared outcome of the exercise which intuitively formed the basis of their complaints.

‘What could not be fathomed however, were the sponsored series of badmouthing incidents of some of our leaders who, all along, have been supporting our party with their resources in terms of money, time and pieces of advice that have been sustaining the party to date.Government.

‘It is particularly worrisome and nauseating to note that the blame game ploy has been oozing out, by proxy, from the tendencies of those who, information confirmed, glaringly worked against our party in favour of Governor Ademola Adeleke by clandestinely and frivolously engaging in acts of sabotage during the 15th August, 2026 governorship election.’ He wrote.

Olabisi further claimed that the APC stakeholders who wrote the letter to Tinubu worked for the loss of the party.

‘Our investigation has proven that it is those entities who worked for the loss of the governorship election that are now scheming to destroy the party at all its level of operations in the state.Politics

‘The priority of any of the leaders or members of our party who genuinely wants the advancement of the party is to profer solutions that would improve the value of the party towards the forthcoming presidential election in the state.

‘Hiding in the corner of one’s bedroom from where hired writers are employed to throw brickbats at real or imaginary enemies within the same party won’t help the present and future plight of the party.’ He added.
