The 2027 Nigeria Democratic Congress Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has challenged President Bola Tinubu and other candidates to defend their credentials and records before the public.Africans & Diaspora
Obi stated this while addressing newsmen during a press conference held in Abuja on Friday.
The former Anambra state governor maintained that true leadership requires presence and empathy.
‘Every candidate must be willing to present their credentials, defend their records, and subject their vision to open scrutiny.
‘No candidate should hide behind the high walls of power, send proxies or surrogates to do their bidding and expect Nigerians to entrust them with the leadership of their country.
‘True leadership requires presence and empathy.
‘No one can lead from the front without standing with the community across Nigeria devasted by banditry, criminality, terrorism, and fraud.
‘You cannot truly lead a people you are unwilling to visit, listen to, and understand.’ He said.
On his presidential ambition, Obi affirmed his commitment to take their campaign message directly to Nigerians, stressing that he will not delegate his duties to proxies.

‘Today, I make a clear commitment that I and Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso will take our message directly to Nigeria.
‘We will listen to them, understand their concerns, and engage them openly. We will not delegate these duties to proxies.
‘We will answer the questions, defend our records and character and present our plans to rebuild Nigeria.’ He said.
Obi reiterated that any candidate to who is unwilling to meet with the people lacked the capacity to govern.
‘Any presidential candidate that lacks the resolve to travel across the country, meet the people, and respond to their response, lacks the capacity to govern it.
‘I commit to commencing the journey of representing Nigeria by uniting it, securing it on the path of economic growth and moving our country from consumption to production.’ He said.Africans & Diaspora
