Spain dominated the special awards at the 2026 World Cup presentation ceremony in New York, USA on Sunday night.
Spanish captain Rodri was voted the Best Player winning the Golden Ball; Spanish Goalkeeper surprisingly was voted the best Goalkeeper lifting the Golden Gloves and Pau Cubarsi was voted the best young player. Star boy Lamine Yamal did not win any award.
Kylian Mbappe of France scored 10 goals in the tournament to win the Golden Boot for Highest scorer. He is the first player since the legendary Gerd Muller of Germany in 1970 to score 10 goals in a tournament and the first to win it twice. Leo Messi did not get any award.
The FAIR PLAY TROPHY went to Netherlands.
Spain created a record of being current senior male and female football champions of the world. Argentina got the Silver Medal, England won the Bronze and France placed 4th at the mundial.
