Nigerian Disc Jockey (DJ) and billionaire heiress, Florence Otedola, aka DJ Cuppy, said that her family background and celebrity status has frequently overshadowed her relationships, saying ‘she can’t marry a Nigerian’.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that such comment has stirred reactions online, following a resurfaced interview clip, where she spoke about her views on love and relationships.

Speaking during a recent podcast appearance on X @Vampz, the daughter of billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola, said her past dating experience made her question the intentions of some men.

According to her, such intentions came after her former partner appeared more interested in meeting her father than building a relationship with her.

She added that such attitude by her former partner has since generated widespread debate across social media platforms.

“I can never marry a Nigerian. It’s impossible. The last one I dated was asking me when he can meet my dad.

” I didn’t even think they liked me, my dad doesn’t even care who I marry. He just wants me to get married. That’s why I’m so happy for Temi and Eazi,” she wrote.

DJ Cuppy said that she doubt if people are still attracted to her for who she really is or because of her public image and lifestyle.

NAN also reports that Cuppy’s romantic history has rarely been quiet, especially after her most high-profile relationship with British boxer Ryan Taylor.

The relationship moved very quickly from a 2022 engagement to a 2023 breakup, as well as series of very public exchanges in the years that followed.

It was observed that DJ Cuppy has not made any official post on her social media pages addressing the viral discussion.

The topic has continued to trend with many users engaging in debates about relationships, culture and personal experiences in modern dating.(NAN)(www.nannes.ng)
