The family of Chief Adebayo Adelabu has expressed its deepest gratitude and appreciation to Almighty God and to all Nigerians whose prayers, support, encouragement, and concerted efforts culminated in the successful rescue of Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her twin sons, Peter and Paul, who were recently abducted and held in captivity.
This is contained in a statement by Comrade Femi Awogboro, Media aide to the former Power Minister.
Full statement:
We are delighted to announce that the victims have been rescued safely and are in good condition. This outcome is a testament to the power of collective action, unwavering commitment, and the resilience of our security institutions when adequately supported by citizens and government at all levels.

We particularly extend our profound appreciation to His Excellency, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, for his concern and commitment to the security and welfare of all Nigerians. We also appreciate the Executive Governor of Oyo State for his support, concern, and cooperation throughout this difficult period. We are equally grateful to the Inspector-General of Police, the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters, the Oyo State Police Command, and the Commissioner of Police, Oyo State, for their professionalism, diligence, and tireless efforts throughout the operation.

Our sincere appreciation also goes to the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), the officers and men of the Service at the national headquarters in Abuja, as well as the Oyo State Directorate under the leadership of the State Director, whose dedication and intelligence-driven operations contributed immensely to the successful outcome.

The family also expresses gratitude to the National Leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Oyo State Chapter of the party, APC leaders and stalwarts across the country, government functionaries, political associates, friends, family members, religious leaders, traditional rulers, community leaders, and countless well-meaning Nigerians who stood firmly with us.

We are particularly touched by the overwhelming outpouring of solidarity demonstrated through visits, telephone calls, messages, prayers, and words of encouragement. Your support provided strength and hope to the family during one of the most challenging moments of our lives.

While we celebrate this safe rescue, our thoughts and prayers remain with other victims of kidnapping and their families who are still enduring the pain and uncertainty of captivity. We fervently pray that Almighty God, in His infinite mercy, will grant them freedom and reunite them safely with their loved ones.

This experience has once again demonstrated that insecurity is a challenge that transcends partisan politics, ethnic affiliations, religious differences, and social status. It is a common enemy that requires collective vigilance, cooperation, and collaboration among government institutions, security agencies, political leaders, community stakeholders, and citizens alike.

Together, we can build a nation where every citizen feels safe, protected, and free to pursue legitimate aspirations without fear. With sustained cooperation and support for our security agencies, Nigeria can and will become a safer place for all.

As a people, we must continue to unite against criminality in all its forms and support every genuine effort aimed at preserving lives and property across our nation.

May Almighty God continue to protect our security personnel, bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria, grant freedom to all those still in captivity, and make our beloved nation a habitable, peaceful, secure, and prosperous home for every citizen.

Thank you.
