Dafinone defeats Omo -Agege to clinch APC Delta Central senate ticket

Sen. Ede Dafinone has emerged winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary for Delta Central conducted on Monday.

 

 

 

The incumbent senator defeated former Deputy Senate President, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege, in direct voting across the district.

 

 

 

Announcing results in Ughelli, APC National Assembly Primary Committee Secretary, Mr Nusa Amagbor, said Dafinone polled 116,252 votes against Omo-Agege’s 3,643 votes.

Amagbor described the exercise as peaceful, commending stakeholders for cooperation and orderly conduct throughout the Delta Central senatorial district exercise.

 

 

 

“Based on the authenticated results before me, Senator Dafinone scored 116,252 votes, while his opponent scored 3,643 votes.

 

 

 

“Having satisfied all requirements of our great party and secured highest valid votes cast, Sen. Dafinone is hereby declared winner,” Amagbor said.

 

 

 

In his victory remarks, Dafinone said, “Process was transparent, open, free and fair. I thank supporters across Delta Central.

 

 

 

“I will also call on Sen. Omo-Agege to join forces so we work together for victory in 2027 across all positions.” (NAN)
