Dr Kadri Hamzat,Lagos Deputy Governor
Like its Ogun state counterpart which endorsed Senator Olamilekan Adrola two weeks ago,the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), the highest advisory body of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State, has endorsed and adopted the Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, as its consensus candidate ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The GAC, which serves as a key decision-making organ within the Lagos APC, threw its weight behind Hamzat following internal consultations among party leaders.

The endorsement signals a major step in the build-up to the 2027 gubernatorial race, positioning Hamzat as the preferred candidate of the party’s influential stakeholders in the State.
With this development,if he evetually wins the election next year,Hamzat will break the record of being the first Deputy Governor to succeed his boss since the beginning of Fourth Republic.
