OAU students protest over New Transport system and eviction from Awolowo Hall

Students of the Obafemi Awolowo University,Ile Ife have taken to the street to protest over what they described as unfavorable new transport system and eviction from Awolowo Hall of residence.

Most of the students  lived outside the school campus due to acute shortage of accommodation thereby putting pressure on the inadequate transport system.

The students who gave the notice yesterday trooped early today and barricaded entrance to the campus with various placards condemning the new transport policy.

The students prevented vehicular movement in and out of the campus disrupting  daily academic and administrative activities.

The management of the school is yet to react to the latest development.
