Accord denies participation in Ibadan Opposition Summit:

The Accord Party of Nigeria has denied participating in last week’s Summit of Opposition parties in the country held in Ibadan,the Oyo state capital.

“We’re not involved in opposition parties’ plan to field one presidential candidate “,the party declared in a statement.

Recalled that at the summit, opposition parties, including the African Democratic Congress (ADC) led by David Mark, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), chaired by Kabiru Turaki, and the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), announced plans to present a single presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.

 

But in a statement issued on Monday, Joseph Omorogbe, Accord spokesperson, faulted the organisers of the event for including the party as a member of the coalition.
