Ater much dilly darling,Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri, has finally joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing the larger interest of the people of the state as the reason.
The development comes 48 hours after Speaker of Adamawa State House of Assembly, Bathiya Wesley, resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) alongside 13 other lawmakers.
On Wednesday, the National Vice Chairman of the APC in the North East, Mustapha Salihu, led key chieftains of the party in the region to a meeting with Fintiri, at the Government House, Yola.

Speaking after his defection, in a statewide broadcast early Friday, Fintiri emphasized that the move was motivated by a desire to ensure the welfare and development of Adamawa residents.
“This defection is anchored on the desire to ensure the welfare and development of our people. I urge everyone to remain steadfast and give the government the support and understanding necessary to realize the dividends of democracy,” he said.
The governor also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for efforts in reviving the national economy, pledging to work closely with the federal government to deliver results for the state.
“Our goal remains the growth and development of Adamawa, and this step allows us to collaborate with the federal government to advance our people’s interests,” he added.
