US Troops intervention: What Nigeria need is internal Collaborative security-Gen Williams
Says Nigeria is to blame for lack of learning from lessons of previous interventions
…US more interested in our mineral resources but using protection of Christian in the North as an excuse

Former Director of Training and Doctrine of the Nigerian Army,General Isola Williams has attributed failure of past foreign assistance on previous regimes who fail to ensure internal collaborative effort to reduce the insurgents in the country.
Besides,he also identify failure of the security system to draw a line between criminality and terrorism adding that mix up of both has made tackling the menace difficult.

In an exclusive interview with Newdawnngr.com,General Williams who was a former Secretary of Transparency International said unlike other West African countries like Chad and Cameroon which collaborated to stem the tide,Nigeria has failed to exploit the opportunity presented by such foreign assistance in the past wandering why is it possible for the two mentioned countries to reduce the menace of terrorism and Boko Haram.

 

Said he ”
The Cooperation is not new but the outcome from the past is negative and it is our fault.
He pointed out the failure of
“the Security and Intelligence Agencies have deliberately refused to understand and apply the differences between criminalities by bandits and Kidnappers for MOPOL Action”
Williams said that security should separate terrorism o from the Police duty and NOT Terrorists who do not exist. Insurgency by According to there should be a line of demarcation between ISWAP in NE and similar organisations all over West Africa and the Sahel for Military action.”

He added further that “the Extreme Situation we have are internal perpetrated by Nigerians adding that
“the solution lies within Nigeria with Collaborative Security Check Williams aid that contrary to the attitude of ECOWAS which adopted western oriented Collective Security which is focused on external rather than internal disruptions which has not worked, Nigeria should look inward to internal factors which has made the war against terrorism and kidnapping difficult to stamp out.
“The Collaborative or Neighbourhood Security System is all that we need.
Chad and Cameroon are standing up vs BH.Why not Nigeria?”
He queried why the Joint Multinational Joint Task Force for Collaborative Security with Hq in Ndjamena with a Nigerian as the Commander has failed to solve the problem adding,
“Wĥy is it not working?”
He said the layest arrival of US forces is not new .
” The US UK and others Armed Forces were here before.
During that period we did not learn self reliance for Self-esteem?
We have to call them back ?
As for him the US Govt knows that we do not need the troops except if Nigerians want a permanent Base in our country.
Speaking further,Williams said “the deployment of boots on the ground is to save Northern Xtians in order to appease the envagelical Xtian constituency in the USA.”
“It is also more to meet greedy demand for critical minerals which are also under the soil in abundance in USA itself.
On the far reaching implications of the foreign troops he declared
“Since we suffer from Inferiority complex and acute intellectual dependency syndrome,it may lead to indispensable changes in Operational Tactics with Security Architecture and Governance.”
