Smarting from some personal inconveniences this day, my pains were compounded with the loss of a friend and colleague, Alagba Olufemi Odugbose who passed on this Thursday 29th January 2026 at his cottage in Ijebu Igbo in Ogun State after some sickness in his body.
We had been practicing Journalists with outstanding achievements in our fields before we became pioneer students of Mass Communication of then Ogun State Polytechnic, Abeokuta in the early 80s doing our great trek through bush paths together after we left Onikolobo campus for the permanent site at Ojere.

Heavily bearded Femi Femolah had been notable reporter with the Tribune Stable as ardent disciple of our leader, Akogun Tola Adeniyi and also was a Punch star reporter.
Femi was one of the ‘elders’ and back bencher of our Mass Communication class from the time Dr Femi Sonaike and the late academic guru, Prof. Laid Oso upgraded our reporting skills.
My good paddy, also pioneer of the class from Onikolobo to Ojere, Pastor Tunde Abatan told me few hours ago while i wore a long face and rolled in bed, that Femi’s family have announced a wake keep for tomorrow and burial at Ijebu Igbo on Saturday.
Ah! Se beeni, opin irin ajo yi nya si ni?
Rest well Femi Femola baba n’Ijebu.
Your paddy Yomi Kassim (Yomi-K) says till we meet again.
