*Amosun extends sympathy to Anthony Joshua over fatal road crash
Former Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has expressed sympathy with world heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Oluwafemi Joshua, following his involvement in a tragic road crash along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State on Monday, 29 December, 2025.
In a condolence message issued on Monday, Senator Amosun described the incident as saddening, painful, and most unfortunate, particularly as it led to the untimely death of two members of the boxing champion’s team.

According to the former governor, the tragic loss is a stark reminder of the ephemeral nature of life.
“While we mourn this grievous loss, we give thanks to the Almighty God for sparing your life. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this very difficult moment,” Senator Amosun said.
He prayed for the quick recovery of Anthony Joshua and the repose of the souls of the dead.
“I wish you a speedy and full recovery, and I pray for the peaceful repose of the departed souls. May the good Lord grant comfort to their families and loved ones, and give them the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” he added.
Amosun also expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and the global boxing community.
