Man, 44, docked for alleged N19.6m

A 44 – year -old man, Olaoye Francis was arraigned before an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, for allegedly defrauding a poultry owner of N19.6 million.

Olaoye of undisclosed address pleaded not guilty to the two -count charge of fraud and stealing.

The prosecutor, Insp. Sikiru Opaleye, alleged that the defendant fraudulently obtained N19.6 million from one Afuwape Oluwatobi with pretence to supply him 4,000 point of lay chickens, which he failed to do.

Opaleye alleged that the defendant fraudulently converted the money into account number 0005623099 at Jaiz Bank with account name Feyikemi and Fikayomi Farms.

He also alleged that the money was starched away through one Fasola Johnson with account number : 0033086306 bearing Jatof Farms Agro Allied Consult at Stanbic IBTC bank.

Opaleye said the offence was committed on September 25, 2025 at about 12 noon, at Oluyole Estate area, Ibadan.

He said the offence is contrary to Section 383 (2) and punishable under 390 and 419 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State 2000.

Defence Counsel, Mr Ola Olaniyi, asked for the defendant’s bail in the most liberal terms.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Olabisi Ogunkanmi, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N2.5 million with two sureties in like sum.

She said one other sureties must be a landed property owner, while the other must be a blood relation to the defendant.

Ogunkanmi, thereafter adjourned the matter until December 11, for hearing. (NAN)
