DSS Drags X, Meta to Court Over Sowore’s anti Tinubu post

 

The Department of State Services (DSS) has filed a five-count legal action at the Federal High Court in Abuja against major social media platforms, X (formerly Twitter) and Meta (owners of Facebook), over posts made by activist Omoyele Sowore.

According to the charge sheet, Sowore allegedly used his verified X account and Facebook page on August 25 and 26, 2025, to describe President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a “criminal” and accuse him of dishonesty in relation to corruption during his official visit to Brazil.
