Killing of four policemen: Kogi govt working to unravel sponsors of violence,kidnaping -Fanwo,Info commissioner

The Kogi State Government is working on attacking the roots of violent crime iin Egbe  agba West.
State Information Commissioner,Hon Kingsley Femi Fanwo said this in a statement.

He stated that while the security agencies “are deploying massively right now to secure our dear people,” the government is also looking at long-term solutions to the menace.

It will be recalled that gunmen on Wednesday killed four policemen and men of Vigilante service in an attack on Egbe town in Yagba West local government area of the state.

He described as unfortunate the loss of police officers and men.of the vigilahte service.
Said he,”We won’t just complain, we are attacking the situation. We appeal to our people to cooperate with us and all security agencies to achieve long-lasting peace and security in Yagba West and across the State.

He revealed that dince the incidence occured” the Governor has been doing all that is necessary to achieve results. We won’t go into details but be assured that the Governor is working round the clock to make sure criminality doesn’t thrive in the State. ”

“We are aware of the concerns of the people and we want to say we are totally in it together. We won’t submit to criminality. The safety and security of our people are non-negotiable. It is a task that must be done. Several security operations had been carried out in the past few months in Yagba West. Attacking our gallant officers was an attempt to weaken our security architecture. We won’t succumb to their recklessness. ”

He extended the condolence of the government to the people adding,” Our hearts are with the people of Yagba West LGA and everyone affected by the criminal activities of the past 24 hours.” We have no doubt that the situation will be put under control.

“In the past few hours, I have spoken with Yagba West LGA officials and our dear people. The consolation in all of these is that our people who are living in Yagba West are upbeat that we can turn this around. It is a flashpoint because it is a border Local Government Area and we are determined to ensure security along our borders.
