The Illegal Abbatoir
In what appears to be intensification of war against environmental degradation for healthy living, the Lagos State Government has uncovered and shut down an illegal abattoir operating along Succo Road, directly opposite the RRS Barracks and LASTMA Yard in the Oko-Oba area of Agege.
According to the Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, the unauthorized facility posed significant health and environmental risks to residents.
“Our team discovered the illegal abattoir and acted swiftly to safeguard public health. Arrests have been made and all contaminated meat seized to prevent it from reaching consumers,” Wahab stated.
