Lagos Govt Arrests 70-Year-Old Man Vandalizing Fence project

The Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC) has arrested a 70-year-old man caught vandalizing ongoing fencing project by the state’s Ministry of Environment and Water Resources.

This was disclosed in a post shared on X by the Lagos Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab.

According to the Commissioner, the septuagenarian whose identity was not disclosed was apprehended on Sunday morning while vandalizing the fencing project Lekki Phase 1 canal setback.

Wahab noted that the culprit will be prosecuted for sabotaging the project designed to protect lives and properties.

The post read; “This morning, 70-year-old Kayode Otitoju was caught red-handed vandalizing an ongoing fence project by the Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources at Lekki Phase 1 canal setback.

“This infrastructure protects lives and property. Sabotaging it is sabotage against Lagosians.

“He will face the full weight of the law.”
